Resident Evil 6
With the recent release of the long awaited Resident Evil 6 from Capcom, we take a look at BradyGames Signature Series Strategy Guide for the game. Written by Don Birlow and Logan Sharp the guide covers both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Resident Evil 6. Starting off the guide is a complete introduction written by Capcom, detailing the story and background of the game. Accompanying the introduction is a bio of each character with stunning artwork and pictures, and is followed by a breakdown of the control systems for both the PS3 and Xbox 360.
I have to say that the first thing that strikes you about this guide is the very user friendly way in which it is laid out, maximising ease of use and quick reference for any gamer.
The guide moves on to provide a very descriptive and informative briefing on aspects such as Combat and Partner Actions, all of which are accompanied by very relevant and stunning screenshots. We then get into the serious stuff of the campaign, and it does not disappoint. Every chapter for every character has been thoroughly detailed, showing the map lay-outs , collectable positions and dropping a few well placed hints along the way. At the end of each campaign chapter it has a chart showing you the ranking criteria, so if you want to improve your ranking you will be able to see exactly where you went wrong and how to improve. I found this very handy, especially since I didn’t have to go back through the pages to find it at the end of each chapter.
BradyGames have managed to put a tremendous amount of detail into every page of the campaign chapters, but done so in a way that
does not spoil the game in any way – still allowing the player to have those scary moments and surprises. From there the guide lists all the Templates, Emblems and Titles which are used to make Dog Tags for online play, again with pictures and details of how and when you can achieve them. The guide continues further by detailing the Agent Hunt mode which allows you to control the baddies in a role reversal. Each of the monsters is detailed with a bio and the most amazing artwork, finally finishing up on Mercenaries Mode giving you hints and tips on how best to play.
But wait….. I bet you thought I was finished, it then goes on to give you a complete breakdown of the weapons, skills, achievements, medals and bad guys. All in all BradyGames have packed in over 330 pages of Zombie beating madness. Each page of the Resident Evil 6 Signature Series Guide is finished in a glossy magazine finish. Featuring some of the most spectacular Resident Evil screenshots and artwork around. All of this at a price that will make you feel like you are robbing them.
If you have the game this guide is an absolute must have, not only for it’s information guiding you through the game but as a massive Resident Evil art book. And, if you are a true collector and fan the guide is also published in a limited edition format, for an even more opulent experience.
